Mango Mousse

If you like Mango’s this Mango Mouse no bake dessert is a one for you, easy and quick to make.

Living in Taiwan was great if you liked tropical fruit like mango and pineapple.  The local mangoes were very sweet and delicious and it was even common to have a mango tree in the garden. In the first house we lived in there- we had one in the front garden. 

Unfortunately we never got to taste them, as we would go back home to the UK at the beginning of summer for our annual leave returning five weeks later expecting to pick some delicious ripe mangos. 

Instead we would come back to an empty tree!  We discovered later that our cheeky and slightly crazy neighbour down the street had been pinching them while we were away!

500 ml Whipping Cream

3 – 5 large Mangoes (depending on size and mango taste desired) or other Fruit
1 Tablespoon Caster Sugar

1 Tablespoon Cointreau or other Sweet Liqueur

Unflavoured Gelatine Small Sachet (12g or 4 sheets of Gelatine Leaf)

Prep & Cooking Guidance

Whip the cream with the sugar and the dissolved gelatine until it is thick and stands in peaks.

Clean the mangoes or fruit and puree in a blender. Fold the fruit into the whipped cream mixture. 

Stir-in the Cointreau. Spoon the mousse into a glass serving dish and refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.  Done!
