Cottage Pie Recipe
This Cottage Pie Recipe is cheesy and delicious. Try it with lean 5% fat lean beef to create a healthy, nutritious and yummy dinner for the whole family.
Ingredients:
For the filling:
500g beef mince
Olive oil to cook
1 onion, roughly chopped
1 celery stick, chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 carrot,chopped
1 cup of frozen peas
1 tbsp chopped rosemary
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 beef vegetable cube stock
1 tbsp of granulate gravy or flour
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For the mash:
3 large potatoes
100 ml milk
1 tbsp butter
150 g cheddar cheese, grated
Salt & Pepper
Prep & Cooking Guidance
Preheat the oven to 180*C
- Peel the potatoes and boil until soft
- Dice the veggies roughly & chop rosemary and garlic
- Heat some olive oil in a large pan and add the beef mince. Cook until change colour
- Add the veggies, herbs seasoning with salt&pepper. Mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes
- Add frozen peas following if the vegetable cube stock and boiling water. Simmer for 15-20 minutes in low heat
- Add granulate gravy to thicker
- Drain potatoes and make the mash with the milk, butter and 1/4 of the cheddar cheese and seasoning with salt and pepper
- Pour the mince and veggies mixture on a large oven proof dish, spoon the potatoes mash on top covering and sealing the hole dish
- Sprinkle on the remaining cheese and bake until golden for 25-30 minutes at 180*C.
