Caramel Chocolate Chip Cake Bars!
Every Friday at my daughter’s school there is a sale of cakes and sweets made by parents to help raise funds for the school. Children after school can buy a piece of cake or a cupcake for a very small price. This time instead of baking my traditional cupcakes I decided to make this delicious and super fluffy Caramel chocolate chip cake bars.
Here is the recipe. I hope you have fun baking!
Ingredients:
350g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
295g unsalted butter, softened
250g soft light brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
150g chocolate chips or a chocolate bar
65g caramel bits
65g chocolate curls
2-3 spoon of milk
6-7 Dollop of Dulce de Leche or Caramel
Prep & Baking Guidance
- Preheat the oven to 180*C. Grease a square baking tray or line the tin with non-stick baking parchment
- Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together and set aside
- Chop the chocolate bar in small pieces
- Using a electric hand mixer cream butter and the sugar until light and fluffy
- Add the eggs once at the time
- Add vanilla extract
- Incorporate the flour mixture
- Stir in the chocolate chips and mix well
- Spread the batter into the prepared tin
- Add the topping, fudge chunks, chocolate swirls and finish dollops the Dulce de Leche
- Bake for 30 minutes until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Cool at least 1 hour before cutting
