Better Than Brad Pitt Dessert (Recipe)

Actually this recipe used to be called the Better Than Robert Redford Dessert, but Robert Redford is a bit long in the (sweet) tooth now, so the dessert was re-named.  It’s now called Better Than Brad Pitt Dessert although perhaps he’s getting to long in the tooth tooth too!! 

So, feel free to rename it, Better Than [Insert Celebrity Name] Dessert. Whatever you fancy!

This dessert is an extra special one and never fails to silence a room.  Even people who don’t usually eat desserts can’t resist. 

The Better Than Robert Redford dessert is another that reminds me of Hash runs (Hash House Harriers). This dessert was a product of a very prominent lady of the Hash in Taiwan. She was famous for shouting SH!T Jack at her husband and when she let rip, could be heard all over Kaohsiung. This was all done in good fun and everyone loved her for just being her and also for her fabulous dessert.

Recipe

Ingredients, Prep & Guidance

1 Cup Plain Flour

1 Cup Chopped Mixed Nuts

4oz Butter Or Margarine

Combine the above ingredients and pat into a 9 x 13 in (23 x 33 cm) tin.  Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180c / 350f / Gas Mark 4 for 15-20 minutes.  Allow to cool completely.

If you want it to look more pretty you can use a round 23 cm cake tin.  As pictured above.

Layer 2

8oz (225 grams) Cream Cheese

1 Cup Icing Sugar

1 Cup Cream – Whipped Up

Cream the soft cheese and powdered sugar together then mix in the whipped cream. Spread over the cooked first layer.

Layer 3

1 packet of instant whip (or Angel Delight).  Yes! That’s what I said. Trust me.  You can use butterscotch, caramel, chocolate or whatever flavour you like, but I think caramel flavour is the best. Make up as package using the instructions.  Spread this over the second layer. 

Note: If you don’t want to use instant whip you can use a can or caramel. 

Top all the layers with more whipped cream. Decorate with grated chocolate or a few chopped nuts.  Chill in the fridge for a few hours before serving.  This dessert can be made well in advance of the party. 

This dessert never fails.  IT’S ALL TO DO WITH THE NUTTY BOTTOM!
